Telescopic Baton - ESP - ExB-21H - 21\" - 360° - Black

Introduction

In the grand tradition of hardened-steel telescopic batons, here is the 21" three-segment model manufactured in the Czech Republic by ESP (Euro Security Products), a company specializing in the design and production of defense and law-enforcement accessories for the military, police, gendarmerie, and close protection services, both civilian and military.

Adult private individuals may own this type of purely non-lethal, Category D defensive weapon, which is relevant to numerous "at-risk" professions such as shopkeepers dealing in sensitive goods, jewelers, and pharmacists, among many others, as well as business owners or heads of families wishing to safeguard their safety.

How It Works

This is a so-called "friction-lock" telescopic baton, whose three segments are deployed with a sharp, circular flick of the wrist, wedging the tubular elements together by friction into the working position.

In this case, the resulting length is 21", or 53 centimeters, a mid-range size given that this model also exists in 16" and 26" versions, i.e. 40 and 74 centimeters respectively.

The tubular segments are made of black anodized hardened steel; the screw-on impact ball at the tip is made from the same metal, while the handle is coated with a good thickness of black rubber that provides comfort to the user on impact as well as a strongly pronounced anti-slip grip.

The method for retracting the baton is well known: gently tap the tip of the baton, held perfectly vertical, against a hard surface to unlock each segment and push it back into the handle.

Carrying

A rigid, thermoformed polyamide holster, rotating 360°, attaches to a belt or strap; its width is adjustable for a secure fit, and a sturdy braided nylon strap holds the baton in place with a simple push button. It's effective and quick to use.

Usage

The 53 cm length of this baton invites the user to brandish it preemptively, which is a deterrent that often works. It is advisable not to let the attacker get too close, so as to take advantage of the length of the extended arm combined with that of the baton for the most painful impact possible, while keeping the attacker at a safe distance that prevents any counterattack.

Maintenance

To prevent premature wear of the various segments (as they lock by friction, and friction means wear), simply disassemble them after each use in wet (rain) or dirty conditions (dropped on the ground, in sand, etc.) and clean them individually with a damp cloth, then dry them thoroughly.
To do this, unscrew the rear cap, which allows each segment to be removed.
