The Byrna Kinetic projectile is a non-lethal, hard polymer round designed for dynamic training or situations calling for a deterrent response.

Its dense, solid structure allows it to hold together on impact, even against hard surfaces such as glass, making it a tough choice for exercises against varied targets like bottles or paper backers. Used with a Byrna launcher, it can reach a target up to 20 metres away.

While this projectile can inflict significant pain on impact, it generally does not produce effective incapacitation. For this reason, its use in a defensive context remains limited and should be considered with good judgement. It is also inadvisable to fire at close range or towards sensitive areas of the body, as there is a real risk of injury, particularly if the target has underlying medical conditions.

Security professionals often favour more effective chemical rounds to neutralise an assailant, such as Byrna's irritant \"Pepper\" or \"Max\" projectiles. Kinetic projectiles, meanwhile, remain highly relevant for shooting drills and controlled scenario training, where their physical impact provides a good training reference without any risk of fragmentation.
